    barrels.....yes i know; again

looking at "upgrading" the barrel on my mini. i'm looking at the dye stainless one, though i'm not sure i'm liking the length, i'd like to be able to get a 10" (12" tops!) barrel.

so i ask this, other then BOA (who've been ignoring my several e-mails), am i able to get a 8 or 10" barrel, without 6" of ports? i know there's the stock one. but i'd like to have 2 or 3 barrels to match paint with. i'm thinking freak is out; just because i'm not sure i want to deal with it....and again, lots of ports.

i generally run a 48ci bottle....so efficancy (i suck at spelling; sorry) is an issue.

    any recomendations?

    cheers!

Its not 10", but the Lapco Autospirit (or Bigshot, depending on what bore size you want- autospirit=small, bigshot=big) it one of the more efficient barrels out there. It has no porting for the first 11 inches, then a group of 32 (i think) holes at the 11 inch mark, where there is also a muzzle break. They arent the snazziest or quietest, but they sure do work well.

Edit: They are 12 inch barrels.

Lapco makes good stuff. I've got a BigShot, and I'm gonna pick up an AutoSpirit soon for smaller bore paint. Price can't be beat; at the online stores they run about $50.

dude, it duznt matter what kinda barrel you have on your mag. it will only shoot to a certain tollerance of what most would call strait. just dont spend more then $60, thats all I have to say about mag barrels. it isnt the mag itself that does that, just the twistlock shindig. with a screw in barrel it says steady, but watch the tip of a mag barrel when its shootin rapid and it vibrates and throws the balls a bit wider off target (more so on 12"+ lenghts, i havent noticed on shorter barrels). im not trying to trash or bash the mag. i have one and its treated me very well, im completely satisfied. im just savin you some money becuz my friend went out and spent $120 on his mag dye boomstick and my $55 dye aluminum shoots just as strait.

          well it's like this.......

.......granted the stainless dye unit isn't cheap, but i know it'll take a better beating, and won't scratch as easily as any aluminum barrel. i know how clumbsy i am......and we all know *stuff* happens. mostly i just want a selection (2 or 3) of barrels....all 8-10" preferably steel for the durability, with not too much (2-3" in holes) porting. as it sits now, i know of none.........and if it means i have to pay $150 for 1, i think i'm willing to do so. it's up to me to decide what's wasted money and what isn't.......i just don't like smart parts, dye, JJ and various others telling me i need 12-16" sticking out the front of my gun.

i'm going to look at the 2 lapco units as they are my best options that i know of.......but i'm still not liking the length issue.

sorry for the rant, it's just i hate being told what i'm supposed to like; anyone that knows me.......knows that about me.

          cheers

for that lenght i'd go with a set of SS lapco's.

Technically they're 11.5in long. They're the best one pice barrels i've ever shot. And they look good too
