I don't know how you would go about that. I don't think that ive ever heard of anyone doing that on there own before. You can polish it yourself.

The body of a mag is stainless steel. Just polish it. It's better and more durable than crome. If you want the rail and grip shiney, strip them, polish and then clear annodize.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

Polished alluminum (Rail, Grip) look alot differant than polished SS (mainbody). If you have a CF grip frame, then you cannot polish it.

If you chrome it yourself, chances are when your done everything won't fit right and you'll have problems.

If you must crome the aluminum parts, there are multiple steps to follow.

            - you must predip the aluminum in a zincate solution
            - next, plate the part with nickle
            - you then plate with crome.

The amount of added material due to plating won't be that much and shouldn't affect the operation of the gun. It's not the same as painting, where a thick coating of material is applied.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

You might be able to tape off the areas that you generally don't want to alter the thickness of. I don't know if this is possible with chrome?
