    Wtf My Crossfire Just...

WTF MY CROSSFIRE JUST EMPTIED IT SELF. it was in my pb box and outta the blue i hear this LOUD *** hiss. I had just got it filled today at 3000 PSI and about 4 hours later it emptied itself. Im not sure if the blow out disc's went or what cause by the time i got to it it was at 0000 PSI.

It really pisses me off since its only 9 months old. My question is, what the hell happened and whos fault is it?

Another thing is, it was really cold once it emptied itself, but i know it wasnt Co2 cause it was warm when i had it filled.

For refrence its a Crossfire 47ci 3000 PSI tank

hmmm, probably a burst disk. they do that sometimes. mine did...

and it wasnt co2, air does that too when its discharged rapidly.

yeah almost sure it's a burst disk. Sometimes they just don't work. Some people put a metal plug in the burst disk spot, but i wouldn't risk my safety like that.

My girlfriend rides a moped. How cool is that??!!

Well, when air compresses, it heats up, so when it decompresses does it cool?
Another vote for the burst disk.
And one for take it to the store and say what did you do, and smack them :)

You might want to chech your FILL nipple o-ring. this happened to my 45oo Flatline once, and that was the problem.

I vote for fill nipple. Everyone voting for burst disc obviously has no experience with Crossfire tanks :)

Crossfire tanks, especially the older models, have real problems with crappy fill nipples. They leak a lot, and your problem sounds a lot more like a leak than a blown burst disk.

A burst disk would have been a REAL loud pop before you heard any hiss. Plus, a disk blowing would be more likely to happen when you got it filled, when there is MORE pressure in the tank, not LESS pressure after the tank had cooled down.

As for the tank being cold, whenever you vent a tank like that it gets cold, its a normal occurance with compressed air, don't worry.

Just check that fill nipple oring first.

At one point, one of my Co2 tanks started leaking slowly from the burst disk. When it had emptied, i discovered that I could unscrew it by hand with almost no force. The burst disk had started unscrewing itself. Never had a problem with my crossfire yet though.

sounds like an o-ring to me. whatever you do though dont put oil in there. it gets flamable and can blow up. bad stuff obviously.for more info on that go to www.warpig.com.

Just call crossfire or email them and send it back. I dropped my 68 45 on cement, and bent the top o-ring lip, and a few months later it leaked itself dry. So, I just sent it back and 10 days later it comes back with a new reg tip, no charge whatsoever, and no questions asked. So, give them a call and they'll hook you up.
                    Christian, and proud of it.

i had the same problem. the only problem is that the guy i bought it from failed to mention that the reg was bad. i figured it out after 2 or 3 burst discs. just hope it isnt a bad reg because they are over a 100 for a new one

About a week and a hlaf ago I had my tank filled, by the time I got home it was empty ... I went to the store, changed the o-ring on the fill nipple got it filled again and it was fine again. I get home about 2 hours later ... and the tanks empty again, When I get back to the store, they told me it was my burst disk that time. So check them both ... and total it only xost me $5 to fix both things, so it's not a big deal.
