    Nitro vs. Air Tanks, what's the difference?

    I just bought a RT through eBay, but it doesn't come with a tank. I've been looking at ebay for tanks, but have a question before I go out and bid on one. I've noticed that a fair number of tanks (Pure Energy and Nitro Duck) are listed as Nitro or Air. Are the tanks gas interchangable, ie can I use air in a nitro tank and vice-versa?

    Thanks in advance,
    Charles

      The air you breath is 80% nitrogen. Hence, the words compressed air and nitrogen are used interchangable in the paintball community.

        Nitrogen tanks are compressed air tanks, and CA tanks are Nitrogen tanks. They'll perform the same, be filled the same, and look the same.

        Happy Bidding:)

            Actually, be careful if bidding on a CA tank. When paintballers first switched from 12 grams to larger refillable CO2 bottles, the CO2 was refered to as CA (constant air).

            So in paintball circles:

            HPA = high pressure air
            Nitro = high pressure air or nitrogen
            Air = high pressure air
            CO2 = high pressure carbon dioxide
            CA = constant air (high pressure carbon dioxide)
            Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

              CA is now also used for "Compressed air" by some people. You can probably tell by looking at the tank what it is for.
