I think I can speak for most people here. I have no idea what you just wrote.

The only part that holds back the bolt is the sear assembly. It is rotated to release the bolt when you pull the trigger.

The bolt slides into the power tube at the front of the valve.

The tip of the power tube has a brass insert which holds a spacer and an o-ring.

There is a spring on the front of the bolt. This spring is used to reset the bolt after the gun has fired.

    Here are some diagrams.

Where does the problem seem to be occuring?
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

      hmm

i bought my automag a weak ago and now this problem.
In my automag there is a little metallring that i think have the role to hold back the boltspring. There is just a hole for the bolt to pass. The ring is sitting just back the hole were you feed balls. After that i have shoot a few balls, this ring has moved forward and the pipe out of its track. I hope you understand better now

I think the metal ring you are refering to is the retaining washer in the main body of the gun. This washer separates the front and back sections of the gun body. The washer does provide a wall for the bolt spring to exert pressure on the bolt spring. The washer is welded in place.

If this washer breaks loose (which is very rare), the gun will not function properly. You will need to send the gun to Airgun Designs for repair.
