    Stripping a Black Teflon Body

I was planning on getting redrider to powdercoat my mag body for me but he said I would need to find a way to strip the teflon off because he didnt know how. Does anyone know how I can do it?

i had a black teflon body, it got too scratched up so i decided to strip it off, using sandpaper. i used a medum grit, washin it away under a sink, then switched to a finer grit around 250 or so. took a night's work. its pretty easy to strip off though

whoa. Why start at such a low grit? Maybe you should start at 400-600 and work your way up to 2000. If you start with 200 you will spend your entire time trying to get the scratches out that the 200 grit made.

If you are like me and don't care for all the work associated with sanding...you can get a spray can of paint stripper at any auto parts store,BUT, you MUST follow all warnings on the can because it is some mucho powerful stuff!!! This has worked for me on several of my projects! I used it to take the teflon off of my mag before redrider coated it. He did a sweet job,by the way! Just any extra warning...follow the directions.
