    3000 reg to 4500 tank

Is it possible to use the reg from a 3000psi tank with a 4500 tank?

I was thinking that as long as the 4500 burst disc and guage (from a broken 4500 tank reg) were swapped it should be fine. Is this true?

A 4500psi tank should be fine, as long as you only fill the tank to 3000psi. Since the 3000psi reg burst disc will be for the correct pressure, leave them as is.

I thought of that but I'm trying to get a functional 4500 system from parts I already have. Broken 4500 reg (4500 burst disc and guage are fine), perfect 4500 tank, and fully funtional 3000 system (ie. tank and reg).

Go ahead if your goal is to win a darwin award.

For those who don't know, the darwin awards are awarded to people who kill themselves in new and incredibly stupid ways.

Using any part that deals with pressure rated for 3000psi in a 4500psi system is not safe, and not smart.
