    Electronic Zgrip

ok, was just sitting around with my mag, thinking about how to make it electro, and looking over the emag parts and what not. i was trying to figure out a way to adapt the emag parts to fit in Z-grip and work, and it hit me, ok, drew this up in paint really fast...not to scale, but you'll get the concept. also, not sure how the magnetic trigger thingy works, but it could probably be easily addapted to a Zgrip, as the trigger area isnt too different, if not, a micro switch would probably work =)
ok, no making fun of my mad paint skillz!

alrighty, this is how it works, im guessing a big problem with making a Zgrip electric is the angle the grip sits at, it makes it really hard for a solenoid to do its job, well, my idea is to put in a standard emag sear(minus the solenoid plunger) and then connect a small, yet flexible cable to the spot where the plunger would usually attach, run the cable in the origional direction that the emag solenoid would pull, put a small wheel for the cable to sit in, have the cable change direction to match the Zgrip angle, then have the cable attach to the solenoid plunger and the solenoid, this would allow the solenoid to apply nearly the same amount of force onto the sear as it would o a normal emag...i think =) but could this work? any insights would be helpful.

Someone has a little to much time on there hands.

Well, I dont really see how the soloniod would "recharge" or go back to the original position and move the sear back to the original position.
    Ya Man, thats PCP

okay, I just realized the on/off pin would push it back but there would be issues with "timing". Were would the microswith go?

instead of having that pretty little green cable you could just run a connecting rod straight up to the back end of the sear and reverse to action of the solenoid so that pulling the trigger would push the on-off end up instead of pulling the sear end down. youll need a machine shop and some serious skills

that was thought of by the guyz at AGD already.... but it came to to a no-go because there is not a selenoid that is small/strong enough for the task that they could find....

the deal with the sear i think was solved but that was as far as it got......

as soon as they come up with a way to make an Emag with a Zgrip i plan on being one of the first in line for it..... heck i'm still waiting for an intella-Z to come out....

            somewhere where it would work
I honestly dont know, no idea how big they are, or how small, or if the magnetic trigger thingy could/would work...

anyone AGD peeps care to offer an opinion?

you can mnake an inteli grip out of any trigger frame, all u have ot do is make room in the frame for the micro swich, i had a mag with a stock trigger frame and did it. it took me hours to carve out the middle of the frame. if u have questions e mail me @ [email protected]
