Well, as some of you have seen in my last post my new (to me, a used valve) is/was leaking very badly. I'll tell you what has happened. Sorry about the lenghth, but a LOT happened.
First, I got the valve and gun and all in. I put on an ASA and gassed it up. It was doing great. Shot a lot of balls through it and it was fine. Then I busted one. I dont think it was a break, but I took off the valve anyways to clean it. I made sure there was no paint on it, and put it in and gassed it up again. SHOOM- big leak out the barrel. I try pulling the trigger, but to no avail. I took off the tank and tried taking it apart and cleaning it as per the sticky thread above, and all was fine except I couldn't get the Regulator Valve Pin Assembly out, it was kinda stuck. So oh well, I said, no problem. I put it all back together and it still leaks BAD. I post something on this site asking for help, and in the process I find that I can push the bolt back to reset it and stop the leak. When I pulled the trigger, however, it didn't return and I had to reset
manually. Finally I popped in a new bolt spring to see if it would help. Now the trigger wont pressurize. I had a 2-300 psi tank now from all the testing and all so i thought oh well, I guess I can wait a while. Fast forward to today. I got my tank filled, and put it in. The gun still leaks. I took it apart and something weird happened- part of my ReTro came unscrewed that I'm pretty sure ISNT supposed to do that (see pic for part that came unscrewed, best I can call it is the power tube. I can see the dump chamber inside there. It came off when I tried to unscrew the Power Tube Tip. Now the tip won't come off, no matter what.) I tightened it up real good, stuck the valve back in, and gassed it up to see if the tightening helped it any. Still leaked, but then I was able to reset the spring, and finally found out my velocity was too low, so I turned it up and reset the spring. No leak. I pulled the trigger and now I'm in runaway mode at a bazillion shots a second. I cant fire a singe shot without a lot of trouble. I tried lowering the velocity, but that didn't do it. At least it doesn't leak anymore, but I cant use it in runaway like that.
Any help I can get from ANYONE is gonna be a big help. I think I need a new part, but before I order anything I want to know from some people that are reallly good with this. Thanks
Bert
