Can't adjust velocity on my RT !?!

    Hello,

I've bought a few weeks ago an RT with an AA 12" barrel wich was already tuned with a good velocity (~280-290 fps) with a flatline 3000 psi system... all was running fine...

    Until I bought a 16" freak barrel...

The velocity came over 300 fps with that barrel... and I just discovered that I couldn't adjust the velocity! turning the specific adjuster won't affect the velocity!

All I could do was to decrease the flatline output pressure to stay under 300 fps, but when I start firing multiple times, I have no more consistency... I guess I'm under the correct pressure for the RT...

Having cleaned everything & changed seals, I couldn't figure why it doesn't work... I had to put back the old 12" barrel! Such a shame...

BTW, I tried few (European) paintballs, and it seems that the "Anarchy" paintballs are breaking quite often in my RT while paintballs like "Pearl" or "Challenger" aren't... Could somebody confirm this?

Thanks in advance for your help!

You couldnt turn the adjuster? Or was your turning just not doing any good?

I can turn it as much as I want, but the velocity won't change!

And everything seems fine inside (springs, seals...)!

      Argh!

Hrm... I was gonna say the spring pack could be stuck (don't know if it's possible)... Have you rebuilt the valve? I found that my ReTro functioned much better after rebuilding it (bought it used, and it hadn't been rebuilt ever, through at least a dozen cases). If all else fails, take it to someone who is qualified to work on mags, or send it to AGD.

          Cant adjust it?

Also, Don't forget...the Retro valve adjustment is WAY different that a stock Mag Valve. It takes a FULL turn to go from 200fps to 300fps, unlike the standard valve which is very touchy. Hope this helps...

The answer came from john from airgun-uk who told me to "check the little black disc springs in the RT for cracks"... yes, there were cracks on the disc springs...

Airgun-UK will send me the replacement disc springs free of charge...
I'm quite impressed by AGD support!
            Thanks for your help...

Man, I hear good stuff about AGD support all the time. I only have experiance with AGD and Palmer. Both are excellent in my opinion.

I really like the way AGD does bussiness. I'm glad when I started in PB I skipped the Tippman/Spyder caliber and went right to AGD. Best Advice I've had in PB yet, go AGD off the bat.
