rt won't work

Sorry I am new to this and hopefully I am doing this correctly. I recently purchased a used rt. I put preset 48 cu inch nitro tank on it shot 6 time ok then nothing. sounded like it gased up ok when I pulled the trigger it was like it just puffed out a little bit of air. Took it apart o-ring looked old so i got a parts kit replaced o-rings now I get air leaking down the barrel. video says to replace on/off valve o-rings & power tube o-rings did both again. when I pull in the trigger it stops leaking???? I am out of air and waiting to get my tanks refilled. I have 2 48's and a 114 all drained trying to fix this any help is greatly apriciated. thanks Mike ....68automagrt

If it's barely shooting, you need to give the velocity one full crank clockwise or until it starts shooting.

Your leaking down the barrel is probably the notorious RT barrel leak when first gassed up. Push back as hard as you can on the bolt with a wooden dowel or straight shot squeegee and then gas it up. That should set the seal on the bolt and it should work fine. If that doesn't work, first make sure you're installing the o-ring first, then the PT spacer and then the PT tip. If replacing the o-ring doesn't fix it, then put in a spacer that's one size shorter. That should get you running.

thank you I will try that. I do not have any spacers is that something I should carry in my tool box? also when you put the rt back together do you turn the velocity cap all the way in then adjust back?? and should you oil the o-rings as you replace them????thanks

Ut oh. No spacers at ALL? I had the same problem. If you don't have any spacers at all but you have an RT Parts kit take some of the extra PT O-rings and stack them into the PT. Only 2 or 3 at a time are needed, you just gotta kinda test the different number of o-rings you put in till it works. Good luck.

A pro connect or slide check will also prevent that from happening in the futre. I had a similair problem.
