Level 10 - is it worth it?

Reading many many threads about the Level 10 I am wondering if it is really worth all the hassle I am seeing people go through trying to get it to consistently work.

I do have one sitting at home, ready to install, but question as to whether people are really seeing that much improvement?

Things I've noted reading the various threads are increased gas usage, depleting the tanks faster. MUCH fine tuning of shims, springs, o-rings. Bolts hitting barrels and causing mis-fires, etc. Starving the marker due to the tank not providing enough input pressure...

I know that it is supposed to reduce chops, but I guess I am one of the lucky ones out there who doesn't chop that much. I usually get into fire-fights with those with Angels and other high-ROF markers, and feel like a fireman sometimes with all the paint I unload at them.

I did have lots of problems due to barrel inside-diameter size and using balls that were too large (problem sharing paint with friends). Once I got a new barrel with a larger I.D., I haven't chopped since.

We aren't allowed to shoot in burst modes (1 pull = 1 ball only) at the fields I play at in California (real bummer).

So, I have a few questions for those that chopped a lot:

What modes do people shoot in - Electronic, Manual, Hybrid?
Are you using burst modes (3-shot/6-shot)?
How many BPS are you set to?
Have you checked the barrel size against the balls you are using?

I also have a fixed-output pressure air tank that I think puts out 800 psi. Will I need to buy one of the Flatline tanks or some other tank that I can adjust the output pressure so I don't starve it? (I'm don't really want to spend a few more hundred right now on a new tank)

    Thanks for your feedback

I installed a L10 using the L10 for dummies instructions and I haven't had a single problem. I only had to make one change/fine tuneing which the instructions fully explained.

I was running it with a preset 800-850psi output tank and didn't have any problems until the tank pressure droped below 600 psi or so (I normaly fill before I get below 1000 anyway so this isn't really a problem)

I firmly believe that the L10 is the single best thing that's happened to Mags since the Retro valve.

I would have to agree. I'm in the bay area and could probably help you get it working. If you don't want it I can probably find someone who would buy it from you.

i have installed a lvl 10 before. i don't own a mag, and i have never worked on them before. this install was so easy to get working, an 8 year old could do it. fine tuning doesn't take much time either.

i still haven't gotten a reply about gas consumption though. i noticed that also. this was on a 68/3000 preset. but the gun wasn't starved.

That's true. In fact we have proof of it!
