Level 10 leak down barrel I think

I finally got my LX kit, installed with the aid of the video on these fourms. I have a air leak that can be stopped if I hold down the trigger, upon releasing the trigger the leak begins again. I am using the 1.5 and 2 shims. any ideas??

Also my Retro valve should be here in 2 days, is there anything I need to know about using this vavle other than the air system - ie; can I just put it in and go or what??

what spring are you using? I recommend the cut spring (cut side on bolt). Try going down a carrier, this should stop the leak. (your velocity is up right?)

When you get your retro valve, swap your lvl 10 parts, slip it in..and it should be good to go. Just turn up the velocity until it fires reliably.

Remove a shim from the powertube, it'll solve the problem.

Leak stopped but now a new issue

Removing a shim did stop the leak but I am now encountering some new issues:

1) When the safety is on and I tap the trigger a leak develops down the barrel again, which is stopped by firing again, if I go back to safety and tap the trigger the leak begins again??

2) I did the dollar bill test and the bolt did not stop, crushing the dollar

Despite the safety, when you tap the trigger it moves the sear just enough to move the bolt without releasing it, so don't tap the trigger.

The Level 10 bolt works by finding a balance between the tightness of the O-Ring carrier (friction), the different length springs (resistance) and input pressure (propelant force). What you want to do to get that level of paint sensitivity is to find the point where the input pressure does not or barely overcomes the spring and o-ring carrier's resistance on the bolt, then slowly increase the pressure till the gun cycles correctly with the sensitivity you want, it will take alot of time and patience (and air) but you'll eventually find it

The marker in which the bill test was done was so soft it was impossible to push a paintball past the nubing.

If you're already using the biggest spring, you can use a smaller carrier to decrease the force of the bolt. That's the only thing you can do in fact.
The smaller the carrier the higher the chance to get the bolt stuck. You'll have to oil at least once a day the marker to keep it working.
On mine, I was down to the carrier 0.5 (with a mirror polished piston), and was using the biggest spring. The velocity was near 298fps.
It was very very very soft, but I got tired of the troubles with the bolt, and now use the carrier 1.

For the small leak left, remove the other shim Check also if the shim is still flat.
