mag and nitro

I have a stock 68 Automag and i plan on buying a nitro tank for it. I dont have alot of money so i was needing a VERY cheap tank...I looked around and i saw the PMI pure energy tanks. The 48ci 3k psi tank cots like 70-80 buck..while the 68ci 3k psi cost like $125, are these tanks good enough to run with an automag..and if they are how many shots of each tank will i get?

Choice 1: 48ci 3k psi

Choice 2: 68ci 3k psi

Or should i save more money and just not shoot my gun til i can afford a better tank?

I wouldn't get the PMI tank. The crossfire tanks seem to have a better rechrage rate.

as far as working, yes they will work fine. will they work as good as a flatline or max-flo?, no. But they will work.

Pmi Pure Energy

I rock a pmi 68/45k pure energy...

Besides the fact that the gague keeps blowing off of the one my friend has(hasnt happened to mine yet), it seems to keep a good supply of air, although i dont know if its my gun or th crono or not, but when im at the chrono, it totally jumps velo like 60-210 fps over 280, so i think it may be the crono or the gun thats not doing somthing rihgt

The pmi's will work just fine for you. There are tanks that are more reliable & recharge faster, but you'll have to pay for them.

As for shots, the general rule of thumb is 10shots/ci on 3000psi tanks & 15shots/ci on 4500psi tanks.

So, you're looking at

~480 shots/fill on the 48ci.

~680 shtos/fill on the 68ci.

i just got a Nitro Duck 68ci 3K tank, its a hell of a lot better than running on CO2. I used 2 use CO2, but I after having my gun freeze up after a 8-9 shot string.. I got fed up. Only cost me about $110 plus tax.. not bad in price.

Hi, I have a PMI Pure energy tank 68ci at 3000 and wish that I saw the 88CI tank for 20 more bucks I would of been happier... the 68ci is nice but my mag is an air hog and wish that I would of gotten the 88ci instead. Save your money a little longer and get the 88ci the 48ci is a waste of time maybe if its a backup tank then ok. good luck on your choice..

Mag and Nitro

I run my E-MAG off of a 68ci. 3000psi Crossfire tank and it suits me just fine! By the way--the same tank used to feed my 68 Automag Classic for years! You'll be fine with a Crossfire or a PMI (people on my team use PMI tanks on a GZ Intimidator, regular Timmy, Matrix, etc.) I would stay away from the 48ci. tank though--just because of the low amounts of shots you'll get before having to top it off.
