level 10 first shot issue ...

Okay all I took my EMag out for its first run (in my hands anyway) this past Saturday.

The marker worked flawlessly except for anytime after the marker sat in-active. If I would not shoot for a min or two, or if I would put the yellow plug in to turn off the marker, then I would have a problem with the next one or two shots.

I would pull the trigger and I would feel the solenoid activate, but the bolt wouldnt move and nothing comes out the barrel. It would do this for a shot or two and then work fine ....

Any suggestions? I tried a search and guess I was using the wrong key words since I either got nothing, or most of the posts on this board.

    Try using a larger carrier.

I had the same problem with my HyperMini. The Hyperframe would work IE the solenoid would snap but it wouldn't fire. It would do this after being inactive for a few minutes and after the second or third shot it would work fine. I called Centerflag and they said that my Retro valve was over pressurizing and the ON/OFF was holding the sear down so it wouldn't fire. I tried a new carrier, new o-rings in the valve, greasing the reg. pin and Reg. springs,(that worked for a while) new main spring. It is doing it again. The guy from Centerflag also said that the first shot would be hot and I would have Consistancy problems over the Chonograph. I have since removed the Hyperframe and I am going to send it back to Centerflag for a tune-up. I tried most everything I could think of. Yes I have Lvl 10 and yes it is the same kind of valve.

This is the problem that made AGD build the adjustable carrier sizes. Try stepping up to the next carrier size and if that makes it leak, then make sure you've got it well oiled. You can also try a different o-ring since all o-rings are slightly different in size. You need to tune it so that it will seal, but be loose enough that you don't have that first shot problem.

I tried a tighter carrier and a lighter spring and that really dodn't work. So I did the really loose carrier and the mid spring. I have new o-rings throughout the valve. Niether really fixed the problem. I plan on buying a new reg. piston and sending the Hyperframe to Centerflag to be looked at. I am running my intelliframe and I am having a problem getting 280 out of the gun before it leaks out the back.

I have had the same problem before. Like stated before, try the next size bigger carrier. If that doesn't fix it then I would suggest taking out that O-ring and carrier and start agian with a new O-ring. Just start fresh and get a good o-ring/carrier match. Test it before placing it back into the gun by sliding the bolt onto it. The bolt should be able to hang down with out falling off but be fairly easy to slide off be hand.
