Retro Valve - On/Off Pin will not engage

My new Retro Valve came in today. Thanks AGD for a quick turnaround. I am now attempting to install it on an unmodified Automag/Standard Feed and am having a bit of trouble. I am using a threaded Pure Energy HPA tank preset to 850 psi. The On/Off pin does not drop down when the marker is gased up. Therefore the trigger will not engage. I have been through a large number of past threads and have tried a number of recommendations made there. I also had a leak down the barrel first time I gased it up. Made adjustment to regulator valve and all is well there.

    Things I have tried:
    1. Verified that all o-rings were in place.
    2. Oiled all o-rings.
    3. Tightened the tank on as fast as I could.
    4. Changed out spacers. Gone down one and up one.
    5. Lengthened trigger rod. (I am using the sear assembly
that came with the new valve.)

I have read several times that it is some difficulty, when using the tread-on tanks, getting the bolt to set against the sear properly due to not pressuring up quick enough. Could this be the problem?

Hope you have some other ideas as I am excited to realize the benefits of the Retro Valve. AGD Tech Support is next.

Have you tried to remove the on/off assembly, checking the seals, oil and move the pin manually? If it feels like it's getting stuck that might be your problem.

Well, it does seem tight. Was not sure if it was suppose to be that way to seal properly or if the o-ring was just tight being new. But since I can not even shoot the thing, I am not sure how I can loosen up the o-rings. The On/Off assembly comes out fine. The pin stays in. I have to pull the pin out with pliers. I can not do it by hand.

Try turning the velocity adjuster up. The AIR reg may be set too low to push the pin down. Just a thought.

Thanks Battlegroup. That did the trick. WOW! That reactive trigger stuff you hear about is actually true.

          Thanks again, Happy Painting
