    Minimag/Automag upgrades

What are the best upgrades for the money? Is a Dye double trigger better than a Benchmark? What is a good all around barrel? I was thinking of getting a Smart Parts Teardrop, 12".

    This is a fantastic site.

    odie,

The Benchmark grip is of a higher quality then Dye for the Automag; however, get an Intelliframe. Whenever possible always buy AGD. Smartparts Teardrop is nice but what paint are you going to shoot? Small, medium, or large bore paint? If this varies often you might want to get a Freak System or atleast two barrels. Equation makes a killer Multiple Switch Barrel and soon a similar system to the Freak. Check it out http://www.equationusa.com

I like my DYE 2x trigger better than the Benchmark. I don't like the Benchmark frames. I like my Boomstick and would recommend it, the Smart Parts is good stuff, too. The Freak system is also a real nice system, but a little pricey, but the good thing is that is the only barrel you will have to buy for the different size paint.:)

I have both Teardrop and Progressive. As my experienced for these 2 barrels for 2-3 yrs, it seems Progressive is less ball breakage than Teardrop. I don't know why and I don't know both bore ID. In this case I prefered a Progressive than Teardrop. How ever , if you can effort The Freak , I think this is a good idea. Or you may looking for 2 barrels instead which are different bore ID ( medium & large ) to use with a varity of Paintball sizes such as Lapco & ACI one piece.

          frames

i have shot with both kinds of frames and i will say the the dye kicks the **** out of the benchy, the benchy has a longer pull with lots of slop, the dye is much shorter and more crisp.

The best thing to do is to try both. One person may tell you that the dye is better than the benchmark because it has a shorter and crisper trigger pull. Someone else may tell you that the benchmarks longer softer trigger pull is better. These are both opinions and the best thing to do is to make your own. You may fire faster and short stroke one less than the other, so it is extremely important that you try both.
It is more of a preference thing than a barrel. For a barrel, I would try as many as you can get your hands on, than pick the one you like best.

Intellaframe or Z-grip, I would recommend the z-grip, but it would probably be hard to find.
              Warp feed
              HPA
              Drop Foward
              Retro Valve

Stay away from aftermarket parts, those bolts, regs, and on-offs will just mess up your gun, and take your money.

I decided to go the cheeper route and cut the guard off the carbon fibre and throw in a Smart Parts double finger trigger. Waz tryin to figure out what to do 'bout the guard until Skyball 2001 .. when I met Tom, he pushed a sweet 'mag into my hands which had a FORK all twisted up into a killer guard!! That's my next project...

Anyone know who at AGD owns that 'mag with the fork?? Think the guy said something about interning there for school
