New EMag owner, having battery probs...

I just got my new (to me anyways) EMag a week or so ago, and I've been having a hell of a time with the battery...Like it doesn't seem to hold a charge...I plugged it in during a long car trip I took, imediatly after getting the gun, and the charger never seemed to indicate a full charge, (as in after 6+ hours on the road) and towards the end the battery was actually getting warm....which seemed very bad to me so I unplugged it...

When I got home I started messing with the gun, dry fired it a few times, and after what couldn't have been more than a few hundred trigger pulls the damn thing went dead...NOT COOL....Seems like a bad battery to me, or are there other problems I should be aware of, like bad chargers or warp feed guns sucking up juice?

    Thanks

Hav eyou got a ultimeter handy?

That would be the easiest way to check charge.

A battery pack can get warm while charging. As long as it is not hot it should be ok. Get a volt meter and check the voltage after it is fully charged. It should read 16.8 volts.

Check the battery pack for pinched wires.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

I too am having problems with the battery. Instead of buying another ($40.00) can I wire 2 9 volt batteries together and adapt them? How would I go about doing it?

Thanks for the tip...I'll check the voltage...and give the battery another chance...

As for the 2 nine volts thing, no I don't think that would work, I don't believe the nine volts have enough amps to make it work...voltage would be close, actually a little high but amps would be low...besides, you're talking about doing a potentialy very damaging mod to a $1000 marker in an effort to save $40....

You're right. Not enough current will be available for the solenoid to make it work properly. In the worst case send your battery back to AGD, if it looks like there's a problem with it.
