Level 10 question...?

OK, I am just wondering how to get a lighter impact with my Level 10. My setup is as follows...Smallest Carrier (denoted by no markings or lines on the carrier), 2 Shims and the Long Spring. My tank is preset at 850 PSI and over the weekend I had my marker firing at a consistent 265 fps with the 1.0 Carrier along with 2 shims. I just changed the setup to the Smallest Carrier and I am wondering how to make the impact even less. Should I drop another shim in to make it start venting even earlier??

another shim WILL make it vent earlier. Try it. It works. Oh...amd was the carrier leaking? Is that why you changed it? Because the longest spring and the loosest carrier that doesnt leak is the ideal setup
