    Help- Using CO2

I just got my mag. It's used and has an intelliframe and level 10. I'm planning on using CO2. When I got it, I wanted to make sure that it could shoot so I screwed in the bottle of CO2 and dry-fired 5 shots. On the 6th shot it didn't shoot. I then screwed out the CO2 tank and the o-ring was blown. Maybe it was just the tank o-ring, but I'd like some instructions on how to take apart my mag so I can see if I need an o-ring rebuild if liquid CO2 got in it or maybe you guys can diagnose the problems. While I'm at it, the ANS Phase II valve that came with the gun has a hole in the back that looks like a hex-screw can fit in. Air is leaking from that hole and I was wondering if I just have to get a screw or do I have to do something else? Thanks!

P.S. I'm not a newbie so I'll know what you're talking about. I've been playing the sport for 4 years now and I just downgraded from my Eclipse Bushmaster to this mag.
    Help me out!!!!!!!!

    Using CO2

Ok, well first what kind of setup are you running on your mag (i.e. are you running the bottle right off of the back, remote, etc.)? The setup you choose when running CO2 is quite important. Running it on remote is probably your best chance of keeping liquid out of the gun.
As for taking apart your mag...this is quite simple! Just unsrew the field strip screw in the back on the grip frame. Then remove the entire valve. By unscrewing the back half of the valve you can get at the regulator. Check your regulator seat--wipe off any dirt, etc. there shouldnt be anything wrong with this. Now you can inspect your on/off assembly. A problem could lie here if liquid got into your gun. The on/off assembley is located in the middle of the entire valve (it is on the bottom). Pull it out and check the o-rings on it, and check the o-rings in the bottom. If any are damaged, then replace them (if you dont have an Automag Replacement Parts Kit--buy one--the parts you need will be in there.) Now inspect your Powertube tip--this will be easy since you have LvL 10 installed. Just unscrew the tip--check all the orings and replace if necessary.
As for the air leaking out the back of that hex screw... (you are right--that's exactly what that is--it's how you adjust your velocity) your velocity is too high--the air is venting out the back because there is too much going into the gun. Take an allen-wrench and turn it counter-clockwise a little bit at a time--dont just crank it a full turn to start with. However, since you have LvL 10 installed, you may have to change the spring you have in to a smaller spring (if you have the longest spring in already). The longer the spring you have in--the more you have to crank up the velocity in order for the gun to start shooting--but if the velocity is too high when the gun does start firing--then you have to move to the next smaller spring (The velocity is too high in your case anyways with air venting out the back--go to the next smaller spring and turn down the velocity). Sorry fo the length of this--but you had some ambiguous questions (not a bust on you ).
    Hope this helps,
    Aaron

      Using CO2...

By the way...do try to invest in a Compressed Air Tank! Any type of Compressed Air tank will give you a much better and enjoyable day of paintball when using a Mag.
      Hope this helps,

Answering as many questions as possible, in no particular order: The hole in the back of the valve is to adjust velocity, and vent excess gas out. Level 10 runs at a higher operating pressure so often turning the velocity up may fix the problem. I'm thinking most of your problems maybe from using Co2. This is the first thread I have read about someone using Co2 w/ level 10. You may try checking this post if you haven't already, http://www.automags.org/forums/showt...threadid=43538
Most posts I have read about using Co2 on a mag suggest using an antisiphon tank and/or a reg. to keep the liquid out and stabilize velocity. Taking the mag apart is farly easy if you are familiar w/ paintball guns. Degass and unscrew the back bolt under the valve, and everything important will slide out the back. This diagram should help alot http://store.airgun.com/acb/showdetl...D=103&CATID=15 Hope that helps, Chuck
BTW that diagram is w/ out level 10 http://www.automags.org/resource/level10/index.shtml has a great breakdown of level 10.
        had to fix that link!

Thanks for the quick responses. I'll let you know the results. I have money now so I think I'll get a sideline stabilizer to regulate the Co2 and get the liquid out.

For the money you're gonna put down on a stabilizer, you'd be better off saving up for a nitro tank. There are some going for relatively cheap in the Classifieds. Check it out

I can buy a new stab for $65 (sideline) when I could buy a used nitro for more? I really don't want to go nitro. All I'm doing is playing rec.

That's your choice, but in the longrun, nitro will be a lot more user friendly. Just my .02

                  Mr.Goodbar try this link http://store.airgun.com/acb/showprod...ectGroup_ID=18
Here you can download most AGD manuals and you can get a copy of the AutoMag video that comes with a new mag, It will show everything you need to know about your Mag, best of all the video is Free AGD only charges for the shipping. Btw once you get your Mag all set and play with it a few times you will change you mind from
"I just downgraded from my Eclipse Bushmaster to this mag."
To --- Why dident I upgrade to a MAG sooner?
