short stroking, what is it?????

hey all, i kept hearing pople talk about short stroking it....and i was wondering, what the crap is it?????lol......i have an idea on what it is but im not sure....i think it happens whn you dont pull th trigger back to its maximum and thn you do it again and it only feds like half a ball and thn it chops it.........please tell me if this is right@!!!!!!!!

Its when either don't pull it back all the way or you don't let it return all the way. It doesn't chop all the time though...just sometimes.

Short stroking really refers to that (not pulling all the way back or not letting it forward all the way) but it also refers to uneven stroking of the trigger. This can cause uneven firing, thus ball chops on any type of gun.

However, now the Level 10 will virtually eliminate that if set up correctly.

On a mag, short stroking refers to not fully releasing the trigger far enough before pullin it again. The front chamber doesn't fully charge before you shut off the air and release the sear. The gun shoots a low velocity blooper. Another effect would be that the next ball may not drop into the breach fast enough. When the second shot is fired it is chopped.
