effective barrel length and SFLs or Extremes

I was reading through some of Tom's Tech tips and stumbled accross the barrel information.

He stated in that article that a mag does best with an 8-10 inch effective barrel length... (i.e. the length before porting starts) That started me thinking about freak sets and boomstick and my new scepter kit. The effective length of the scepter is only 6" a freak is even shorter.

No the real question is this: How does this relate to the new bodies using cocker threads? Does the 8-10 inches hold true or has something changed to compensate?

Doubt it makes much difference but it might.

Yeah, there's a difference. Not much though.

Whatever the length of the breach is, you'd add that onto the length...

More I think about this, the more confused I get. Bah, I sure hope I'm right
I'm way too old for this ****.
