    Bolts And Valve Questions

Hey i am new to the AutoMag World. I had a cocker and it was very complicated (i was 16 at the time) And i had to sell it to buy my first car. Well now i am 19 out of school and ready for more action i opted for a 68 classic automag,
Will the Level 10 Bolt Work on this?
Will the Retro Valve Work on this?
and what is the price of each? and is there a noticable difference?
I am runnin c02 but after i recover from buy in the gun I am goin with HPA
    any help appreciated
    thanks
    the newb

Will the Level 10 Bolt Work on this?
Yes. it cost about 80 bucks and is worth every penny.

Will the Retro Valve Work on this?
Yes, 200 bucks for the go retro program. You send in your classic valve, AGD sends you a retro valve.

and is there a noticable difference?
With level 10, absoloutly. With the retro valve, if you don't experience shoot down or short stroking, I'd say stick with the classic. If you have either of these problems or just want the best valve there is, go retro.

Just remember to get the HPA before the retro!!! Retros are HPA only and will not work with CO2!! And my experience: level 10 does increase your air consumption a bit, so be advised!! Is it worth it? Absolutely!!!

yea, i think this mag is gonna work out better thatn the cocker for me.
My plans are to run c02 for awhile until i recover from buyin the gun and all
i will buy the bolt, and all, but i will definatley have to wait on the retro valve since that is a bit pricey. and i will get an HPA tank also. I have got a drop foward for it already. And i bought a 12v revvy with x board, and a 16oz tank. and some sort of rifled barrel, it does not have any marking on it.
        I got a heck of a deal
i bought it from a guy who bought it from a semi pro palyer,
        It has a tourney lock,
        An expansion chamber
        reamot,
        12 oz tanks
        and a 20 oz tanks
        2 barrels
        stock frame
        and a .45 frame
        for $125
        a classic 68 mag

How about the ANS Stage 2 Valve? I notice that is 10 times cheaper than the RETRO. WOuld this provide ample performance increase until i can afford the retro? or should i just save for the RETRO and not worry with the ANS.
I have already placed an order for the LEVEL 10 BOLT
CAN"T WAIT UNTIL I GET MY MASK AND THEN IT IS PAINTBALL TIME!!
YALL GUYS ARE GREAT THANKS FOR THE HELP!!

Personal experience: Do not waste your money on any aftermarket valve parts!!! The ANS Valve body will do nothing for your performance!!! I learned this by buying one and finding out for myself!! Just put that money twards a Retro valve!! An option for you might be to look for a used Retro valve from one of the rputable traders on AO such as RougeFactor!! That way, you can keep your old valve as a backup!! Hope this helps!!

Stay away from the After market replacment valves. In most casses the ANS and other valve halves will de-grade the performance of your gun. Just save your money and put it twords the Retro.

                    to steal from RobAGD....

"Serving AGD customers since 1993, wishing I could beat some common sence into some them about 5 hrs later.

Meet my minions, Are you SURE you wantto put those aftermarket parts in your mag now ?"

yeh, stick with stock AGD parts...they will do much better than the aftermarket junk

i just recently wrestled with the choice of going retro or lvl10. i had a 68classic as well. i was having problems with shoot down and short stroking and dispite the recommendations of a few posts in this forum to get lvl10, i went retro instead. so far i have to say it was a good move. alot more expensive, does require hpa if you dont already have it but the feeling of the trigger pushing your finger back, poised to release another ball on a helplessly bunkered opponent is wonderful. and oh yeah no more shoot down and so far no short stroking. plus no chops to boot which hopefully means no need for lvl10. you really have to shoot both to see which way to go so as best to suit your game.
