I read something about a nitro piston in some other thread. Not sure where though. Are there different regulator pistons for CO2 and HP on the classic Automag? Someone fill me in please.

Yea, if you remember from your video, the piston is the main part of the AIR regulator on the back of the gun. The spring back is inside it. It looks like a .45 cal bullet casing when it's out of the gun.
I bought an HPA piston for my mag, replaced the stock one, and I didn't see anything different happen. I've always run a fixed output HPA tank on my mag, either a Bulldog or a Crossfire. I didn't notice any differences when I put this HPA piston in my gun. She was always +-5 EVERY shot on the crony before the HPA piston, and she was alway +-5 EVERY time after the piston. No diffs in shootdown or anything else.
Tell the truth, I wish I would have saved my $20. I don't think it makes a diff. -

Ahha! I knew it looked the same. I was about ready to take a caliper to it and make sure there were some diffs.
So there you have it, if you mag is pretty new (lvl 7?), you probably don't need to get it.
I got it from www.actionvillage.com. Look in the mags upgrade section, it will be in there. $20 even.
You probably have it. You can email or call AGD with your number, and I bet they could get back to ya on if you have an HPA piston or not.Comment
