Internals in a classic valve?

Ok I have a delemour.
I have a level 10, and I haveant been able to get my velosity up over 260. I bought a new reg piston from a store over here but it made no difference to the velosity (obviously an old model)
I cant seem to find the reg parts in AGD Europes website either.

Real question. Can you take things like reg pistons and spring packs out and run your velosity from the bottle reg??? I have heard through the grapevine that it is possible. is there advantages/disadvantages in doing so.
if possible it could save time and money as I wont have to import them.

You said you are running a level 10. Well, what kind of setup do you have? Spring Length & what not. Cuz, just an FYI- the longer the spring, the lower your starting velocity. Try switching to a shorter spring.

I am already using the shortest spring.
I am using the biggest carrier that doesnt leak.
I have tried oil to the max (thinking it may be too much friction) still no luck.

Is you velocity adjusting screw turned all the way in the back of your AIR valve? If so and still under 260fps and not venting then try addeding a old valve regulator seat between the spring pack and velocity adjusting screw. This will give you a little more adjustment with out blocking the overpressure venting function.
