O.k i finally got my level 10 in and all adjusted and it finally works great, and i get good velocity! then the dreaded noise pssssttt. It is comint from the regulator somewhere, I have pulled the regulator piston and put a new o-ring in it, i have put a new o-ring AND teflone tape on the regulator half itself. I am baffled. any ideas? you know those 2 holes at the back of the rail it seems like the air is coming from the one toward the front. Any Ideas?

say brother
dude with the post "first problem with mag" close to this post seems to be having the same problem. like i told him, when i had a leak that seemed to be similar to yours in terms of location, i opened, cleaned and relubed the spring pack in the velocity adjuster portion of the valve it semed to do the trick. remember you need grease though, not just oil.
good luckComment

what kinda grease should i use and where? can i use wheel bearing grease or something? or does it have to be a special lithium based grease? let me know/ any help much appreciatedComment

go down to the hardware store, and buy a tube of WHITE LITHIUM GREASE and lube up your spring pack, the stuff works wonders and its only $1.50 for a 2oz tube (lasts a while)Proud Member Of The AO Cesspool Since 08-24-2002Comment

The grease just keeps the spring pack from rusting and sticking. Oil would evaporate eventually, that is why it is not used. Litium grease is high quality and won't gum up like regular grease as the valve heats and cools under normal operation. Oil is for the o-rings though. Do not use grease where there are o-rings.
The leak would be caused by a piece of dirt or bad o-ring on the outside of your regulator piston assembly. Try not to use teflon tape to fix leaks. Pieces break of and get into the gun and cause leaking when they interfer with the o-rings.Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.Comment
