    Flatline Filling

Last night I setup my flatline for the first time. I bought it used. (68ci 3000psi)

We set it all up, and then went to fill the tank. It filled fine, but it took aproximatly 10x as long as any other tank we've ever seen filled.

It was fine and consistent white in use on my emag, but I was wondering what could be causing the slow fill time? I figured I could do a dissasembly of the reg, but I thought I'd ask here before I take everything off...

      I've noticed the same thing

Never got around to asking anybody put always thought it was very odd.

I just fill from a SCUBA tank and it takes a lot longer on the Flatline than any other tank I've filled.

Actually had the fill guy at a tourney mutter something bad about it when he was filling it. (I handed it to him and he put about 100psi into the tank so I hand it back and say please go slowly it takes a while)

      Anyway
      Barry

Myself and my store. Meaning we setup the attachments going from the tank to the marker.

It's the field setup... No clue. It's a three tank setup, really all I know. It has worked fine to fill all tanks that have ever come in contact with it.

          built in goodness

It is MUCH better for your tank to fill it as slow as possible everytime. You get less heat which means less rapid expansion and distortion. Be glad it fills slow or you will get high drop off rates once it cools down from filling fast.

So what your telling me is all Flatlines take 5x the amount of time to fill than other tanks?

Or is this wrong and there might be something amiss with mine? Suggestions?

                heres what it may be

the fill nipple. if you have it screwed on too tight, then it limits the amount the stopper inside it can move...thus limiting the air flow...some can get REALLY tight and well, you loose speed. there is also a brand that Paintball Inc sells as their nipple...just plain slow. i have these at my store and encourage people to change for the reason Tuna mentioned...

A flatline related question, Can it be filled w/ the on/off off? My centerflag has to be on in order to be filled, just wondering if the flatline was the same way?

yes i can be filled with it off, heck i've filled mine without it on my gun, just the tank by itself. I to love how it fills slow, just makes me feel a little safer. No more slam fills!

chuck, if you have one fohte new style purge valve on-offs from centerflag you can fill it with the tank off, it just wont read on the gauges
