SuperKnives?

Hey guys, I've had my super-knife for a while, and It's great and all, but the bolt that holds the blade onto the "mainbody" (I guess that's what you could call it) wants to come loose all the time.

I leave it tightened, but not a lot, seeing the tightness of that bolt determines how loosly the bladeholder stays in.

too-loose = wiggly
too-tight = can't open the knife without a wrench.

I tried putting a bit of teflon tape on the threads of the bolt, but It's 'still needing to be tightened down once in a while.

anyone have this problem?

I don't own a superknife, but couldn't you put a drop of break-free locktite on the screw in question? not sure if you'd need to remove the screw on a regular basis or not. might solve your problem better than teflon tape. just an idea.

Mine hasn't had this problem.

I agree that a little blue loctite on the threads should work. Put it on, screw it in to the right tightnes, and let it cure.

Okay, I'll give it a try. The only thing I'm worried about is, that if it happens to need to be taken apart, there's only that little hand-tool that comes with the knife to take it apart, and I wouldn't want to have to take off loc-tited threads with that.

I guess you wouldn't really have to take it apart unless something drastic happened to it.. but then you'd probably want a new knife, huh?

just use blue loctite. (#271 I beleive) it will hold the screw in place, but breaks free with very little tool pressure.

Put a spring washer under the bolt head, then tighten it how you like it. The washer should stop it coming undone.
