    Freak Question

im planning on getting a freak for an automag for christmas. Is the freak really the best barrel? is it worth the money? Does the length of the tip affect accuracy? if so which is the most accurate? What is the difference between the teardrop and all american fronts? and lastly, how much length is added by getting the automag freak? ie, will the 14 in. tip really turn out to make the barrel like 15.5 inches long? thanks

anything longer than 12" will just slow down the ball

automag freak doesnt really help, the ball drops into the breech, then the insert in front of the hole in the mag barrel and the nubbin

then it is pushed into the insert when you fire, for the mag, its not really worth it in my opinion

just get a boomstick or a J&J Edge kit or something instead of the inserts and freak

ive heard reviews, and shot my friends guns, never used the edge tough

and the different bore sizes dont help that much if yo go to 2 fields like i do... which both use PMI premiums

personaly i havn't used any of those myself, but i have heard that the freak is not worth it on the mag, although others may say different. Like i said i have NOT used it. I have heard really good about the J&J edge barrels though. The edge changes the back of the barrel completly instead of just inserts and i think you get for of them. then you can add any front to it. I have a question to anyone that reads this though. what material has the least friction. I know stainless is less than aluminium but is stainless less than the ceramic or teflon coated. I also heard brass is the best but i have never seen one. Sorry to ask a question in your thread pbmanic but i figure the knowledge would be good for your barrel purchase as well.

No, The Freak is Not the best barrel for a Mag!!! I had a Freak set, and my old schoo Crown Point ($20) shot better than the whole set!!! If you are looking for a full set, try Equation Pro set!! There are a few other choices that people seem to be having good luck with also, J&J being one!! But do not waste your money on a Freak kit!! Hope this helps!! And to answer your question Minion: The lowest friction coefficient is Teflon, and Equation inserts are Teflon coated Stainless steel!!

do i need different sized adapters so they are the same size as the inserts?

                        thanks

are we talking about the bizerk, or the multiple switch
and i have a powerfeed, do they make them for that, or just vert?
do the inserserts go in the adapters?
and what is the pro adaper?
                          thanks

the pro adapter is the one for the inserts, the other ones are just a single bore that is already milled to size

if you are going to use the inserts, you need the pro adapter

all inserts will fit in the pro adapter

and what makes this better than the freak? the inserts are shorter. is it the materials? what mag bodies take different kinds of barrels bc this mag barrel thing is making me mad!
