warpfeed and hopper setup

Iv'e seen several pictures of Emags with warpfeeds that had a dented Revvy attached to them for beeing more compact.

How's denting the Hopper done? Can it be done at home?

Another idea (Tom asked for a solution for putting the Hopper as close to the gun as possible without denting it in the trapdoorfeed prototype thread): How about putting the feed on the opposite side of the gun? e.g. if you have the Hopper on the left side of the gun, have the feed on the right side. the only question here is how to run the feed hose... But it should be the most compact possibility without denting the hopper.

People aren't denting the hoppers they are drilling holes in them large enough for the hose to fit through. Hope this helps

i think the standard way to "dent" your hopper is to heat up a barrel, and the hopper to soften up the plastic, and then push the barrel into the hopper to make the "dent"

I tried it with a heat gun, an was too impatient. I'll get another Revy shell and try again. It makes the hopper fit tighter.

Hmmm, the Hoppers I've seen were definitely dented, not cut.
And although I do own an Dremel tool, I definitely do <b>not</b> plan tu cut my Revvy.

About denting it, I got to be pretty sure it works, 'cause I don't seem to get Revvy shells over here, I'd always have to buy a complete hopper

actually

i cut my revvy, and use it for my warp on my mag, and use it for my centerfeed sto...just put a piece of electrical tape to cover MOST of the hole, so a ball cant fall out...ugly, but it works alright...

other solution is to keep the cutouts, and tape them in from the inside, if you can get your hands in through the revvy door without cutting your thumbs off!!

I used a heat gun and a stainless steel barrel when I did mine. If you do this, I'd suggest you take the hopper apart and do it on a cookie sheet or something similarly heat resistant. Put your barrel next to the hopper half you are melting so the barrel warms up too. If you don't as soon as the cold metal hits the soft plastic, the plastic hardens.

I almost did the hose-through-hopper instead but decided against it since I do have to play in the rain at times. Hot glue or silicon would seal it up nicely but would make hopper removeal, and cleaning of the inside, a bit more difficult.

Something else you may consider is drilling another hole in the warp mounting plate. This will allow the plate to be perpendicular to the gun, get the warp closer to the gun, and allow you to see the display if you own an E-Mag.

Oh, I practiced on an old ViewLoader first before I did the Rev.

you guys should just make your own hopper with the dent already there or talk to the HALO guys and have a special "warped version" made. I'd buy two!

As for denting a revy, I dented mine using a lighter and the stock barrel. I lined everything up to get an idea where to make the dent, I heated up the hopper with the lighter till the plastic went shinny (be carefull here and don't heat it up too much), then I pressed my stock barrel against the hopper to produce the dent. I took my time and had to reheat the hopper a couple of dozen times before I had a large enough dent. And the hopper sits very tight on my emag.
