    RT vs RT Pro?

A friend is selling his RT for a pretty good price, but I'm wondering if it's worth saving money to get an RT versus the RT Pro now being sold.

Can anyone enlighten me on the differences btween these two 'guns? Were there major problems with the original RT?

BTW, this may have been covered before, but since this forum software won't let me search for either 'RT' or 'PRO' (both terms are too short, it states. Can this be modified admin?)

    Thanks,

I have an RT and there is nothing wrong with it, mabey that is just mine but I think that agd came out with the RT pro to have about the same gun for about 50 dollars less. the only problem I can think of is if you ever want to get an E-mag conversion you probly wont be able to with an old-school RT. The only difference I have heard of is that the pros have a different body rail. But even if you plan on getting the conversion to an E-mag Then I would recomend just getting an E-mag. If not then there is nothing wrong with a regular RT.

By the way, make sure you test and shoot the gun before you buy it. I know a few people who have bought guns used(not mags) but the got them used and they worked for about a month the got screwed up.

      Rt vs RT pro

      There are some basic differences.

#1 - The way the gas makes it to the valve. The standard RT the bolt has O-rings and is hollow - the gas travels through the main body and then through that bolt. This is a large source of leaks etc.

The RT Pro has a fitting on the valve just like the AutoMag Classic.

#2 The main body is slightly different (to accommodate #1)

As far as I know that is the only change.
Fixing the worlds problems one well at a time.

#1 The bodys look different, the rt pro has those holes that you see on the front of a classic rt cut off.
#2 The Classic RT runs the air through the body rail, and then through the field strip screw into the valve. The fieldstrip screw in the classic also has three orings on it, and is larger then the fieldstrip screw of the rtpro
#3 The RT pro is made to take regular automag grip frames, for instrance the DYE trigger frame can fit on the rt pro, but because of the body rail these grips can't fit on the classic RT.

Personaly I like my classic RT better, mostly because of the way it looks.
These are the only differences I can think of. Just keep in mind that the intelliframe will fit onto the classic RT, which is the grip frame most would recomend buying, there is also a Benchmark frame for the rt classic.

        Hope this helps

          thanks all

This RT did come with a Benchmark double trigger grip. After your posts and some more research, I did get this gun. I just wanted to make sure that there wasn't some huge problem with the classic RT that caused AGD to go back to the drawing boards.

This was actually purchased for my girlfriend (to upgrade from her current Spyder Java). I'm still using my old Mag, so she outguns me now! hehehe...
I'm holding out for an Emag

Thanks for your help guys... I appreciate it.
