Is it possible to make an emag charger

I just recently bought a used emag, that did not come with a charger. I was wondering if anyone knows if you can make a charger for the emag battery. If anyone has made one or knows how you could, please let me know. Because 80+ shipping for a new one is way over priced.

Sorry, I wish I had an answer but actually I am in the same boat and agree on the price. I would think that with all the good stuff at radio shack that some form of homemade charger should be possible. I second the call for help.

I'm sure one can be home made, I, however, have not taken one apart to see what's inside and how it's wired!!! If you have a friend with one, I'm sure you could look into one!!

I wonder if you could use something like an RC Car charger.. Just solder on some alligator clips and connect em to the battery...

Any charger that will charge a 16.8v rechargeable battery will work.

The thing that makes the emag charger unique is that it uses a 12v input. Therefore, there are extra electronics to boost the voltage and charge the cells at the higher voltage.

An 18v power supply with a current limiter will charge the battery quite well. The current limiting circuit is needed to prevent a dead battery pack from drawing too much current at first.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.
