Im about to buy a used minimag, it has a gas through grip, i ran nitro through it and it shot great, except when i tried to get more than 3bps it felt like the valve is lacking. On the back piece it says ANS PHASE II air valve, but in front of that where the hose goes into the valve, it still has the writing on it "68 AUT" and thats all it says, than the back ANS piece is there. Is 3bps normal for a stock valve? I just want to know before i buy this if something is wrong with the valve.

16bps is NORMAL for a mag, 3bps is normal for a talon
you getting drop off. whats the input pressure on the tank?
if you can, i'd suggest try and get the regular back of that, where it says the rest of AUT-OMAG
you almost might have teflon or something blocking gas fittings or other areas. give your gun a good cleaning, hoses also, and check your output pressure on your tank.
i have my tanks set at like 600-800psi. -
well like i said, something is wrong with that mag. it should be performing much better thant 3bps or around there. something is definitally causing drop off wether its the pressure of the tank/velocity/or some kinda of blockage
oh and welcome to AO!

that 'ans' valve is a crappy non-agd aftermarket product thats probably pretty old and wasnt worth the money when it was new!
how much are you payin for the gun? if the price of the gun plus the price of a stock agd reg assy is still in the range of what you are looking to spend then id say go ahead and get it. when you order the reg assy also get an o-ring kit and replace all of the o-rings in the gun.
good luck and welcome to ao.Comment
