Level 10 foamie problem

Has anyone had a problem with the foamie inside the level ten falling out? It fell out on me, so i super glued it back, only to have it fall back off immediately. Anyone had that problem and have a good solution?

You MUST clean off the bolt surface with something hard and sharp so there's no rubber/glue residue remaining. Use alcohol to remove all oils/greases. You MUST use a QUALITY instant glue or an epoxy. Your grocery store super glue won't cut it. Go to a hobby store and get the good stuff made for rubber. Allow it to cure and it will stay on forever.

so,

#1 use metal probe to remove all excess glue.
#2 wash with alcohol bath
#3 use quality glue

I have a question about the adhesive. I tried using 3M all purpose. Is this not the right kind? Do I need a specific type that bonds rubber and metal? Epoxy Resin?

i used super glue gel. worked really good. then the foamie tore in half. i used a permatex silicone sealer. and first shot, it came off. im back to super glue gel.

Don't forget to rough up the surface on the side that you are going to glue with sandpaper. I had the same problem before, not now. Used JB Weld to glue it.

I personally use Loctite 404 Instant Adhesive. It's really expensive stuff and you can usually only get it through Grainger, MSCDirect.com, etc.

What I'd do is go to your local hobby store and ask them what they recommend. Guaranteed they'll have something better than your 3M All-Purpose. I wouldn't use JB Weld since it's extremely hard when cured. If you needed to replace the foamie, the cleanup would probably require grinding off the old JB Weld.

mine fell off right away, then shortly after being glued back on.

I just play without it. Tho i am kinda bummed that it fell off as soon as I got it tho. I understand that it's a wear part, and can fall off, but straight from agd? Oh well No performance hits without it sooo.

Here's a secret

This is pretty much straight from The Man himself at the SoCal AO meeting. *Looks around the room and whispers in a hushed voice* The foamie isn't really necessary. Yes, it prevents the ball from being distorted too much by the bolt moving forward, but you shouldn't suffer any noticable difference without a foamie.
