    Problems with shoot-down...

Here's the deal. I have been running the same minimag for a few years now. I regularly buy new upgrades, but have gotten to the point where I am getting way too much drop-off when I start shooting all out. I am using a ANS Phase II Air Valve, a high pressure piston, a foamie venture bolt, and a few other things. I want to know if there is something I have done wrong (i.e. a bad upgrade) that is causing this drop-off. Another thing is the gun eats air like there's no tomorrow. 3000psi for like 700 shots. Is that a normal range? Here is a total list of what is on the marker...

    powerfeed right minimag frame
    benchmark frame
    kickass foregrip extender
    armson barrel
    pro-team double trigger grip
    nitroduck 3000psi tank
    kickass dropfoward
    ANS Phase II Valve
    High pressure piston
custom trigger(just tightened up the trigger pull)
    venturie foamie bolt
custom cut on/off valve(this is where I have heard the drop off comes from, should I purchase a new on/off valve)

Thanks for any help. Email if you can, I don't get to check the web that much, but get email on my phone.

Ditch the ANS stuff. No performance gain, and can actually hurt performance.

And what kind of "custom on/off" is it?

Ditch the custom on/off and install a stock AGD on/off.

      Replace your regulator seat.

Replace the ANS Reg. Body with your stock Reg. Body.

Nitro Duck regs are junk IMO. Try another screw-in tank.

Make sure it's well oiled and all parts are clean.

Also, make sure you have a 1/16" gap inbetween the trigger rod and the back of the trigger when gassed up.

        No performance gain off ANS?

That kinda hurts. I guess that's what I get for doubting AGD stuff. I will replace the regulator seal, and put the original parts back on. The on/off valve is just milled out a little. I read some articles online about using a dremel to cut the grooves a little bigger. Is the stock on/off valve the best, or is there a better aftermarket on/off valve?

lok, yeh, the ANS stuff isnt as good as AGD...stick with what AGD made, itll work better than anything else. theres a reason only one or two companies make aftermarket valves for te mag and about ten make them for the cocker/angel/impy etc....AGD's is better than anyone else can design

AGD parts have better tolerances than anyone else... best parts for Mags are from AGD.

Don't tamper with your gun, there's no need to mill anything, make bigger holes... etc. Bunch of stupid people with power tools and stupid theories on how the gun works... write those articles.

I would suspect your on/off!! And as it is rather unanimous, forget about the aftermarket stuff, the AGD stuff work best due to higher quality control and superior manufacturing material!! You could try another tank, it could be the reg in your tank not being able to keep up with the gun!! Also about 700 shots out of a 68/3000 is on par!! What could help that is a better paint/barrel match!! Hope this helps!!

                Another question....

I have a max flow air system from smart parts. If I were going to use it on my minimag, how do I determine, then set the air output on it. I am new to the high pressure arena and don't know if there is like a knob to set it with, or even how you test it.

Thanks for all the help guys.

The Max-Flo should have an output pressure gauge on it. Just adjust the adjustment knob on the Max-Flo so your output is around 700-800psi. It's the large knob on the front of the regulator. Loosen the locking screw to adjust it.
