picked up a 75 dollar mag, looking for maintenance

i dont know much about mags, its a 68 Automag with a shocktech valve so there is no serial number...i used co2 (getting a n2 with x-mas money) i dont know how to go about fixing it, since i got it used, it doesn't have any manual or video and i tried to call AGD by all their numbers and nothing worked, the operator said: "the number is not in service."

    thanks,
    -Alex

    thanks,

      Welcome to AO=)

Did you try this number-847-520-7507? Weird that it's not working, although AGD is busy with Christmas and such and there are a couple of announcements in paintball talk about shipping and stuff through the New Year.

I would really recommend getting in touch with AGD and getting the video. It'll help you get the gun apart and show you how to get it back together, as well as all the various parts that you MIGHT have problems with.

You'll probably want to replace your reg seat, first off. Since you don't have the video, check out http://www.airgun.com/downloads/valveexplodedview.pdf to get an exploded view of the Classic Valve. Not as good as the video for actually showing you firsthand, but it's a start=)

Parts kits are for sale in the online store http://store.airgun.com

The parts kit will have all the orings and such you need. Grab the classic kit, not the RT one.

Going to CA will be a nice upgrade for ya. You won't have to worry about the gunk and extreme cold of CO2.

If you have any other questions, feel more than free to ask. I will tell you that probably any questions you could have will probably have already been asked, and using the search function at the top will probably get you a quick answer without even having to post. Plus, it'll safe you the hassle of some people who's sole purpose in life is to tell new members to do a search.

Again, welcome to AO. Enjoy your stay, and let us know if we can help at all.
Don't think of it as being outnumbered, think of it as a wide target selection.

I'll replace the reg seat. I am soon going to get an intelliframe and lvl. 10 so we'll see how it works out.

        thanks,
        -Alex

Welcome to AO, and a fantastic deal on a 'Mag!! Go to the AGD website, and download the instruction manual!! Next, get yourself a parts kit, and replace every single seal in your valve!!! Third step would be: get yourself some paint, and go out and play!!! The instruction manual for the 'mag is quite thourough and will show you pretty much everything you need to know!! Also, you can call AGD and order the instructional video for a nominal cost!!
          E-Mag's on a diet
          Stay tuned for Pics!!!

the shocktech is the reg, not the valve (shows how little i know about mags). I think i might strive to get an original agd reg though. I registered the gun and requested the video and manual and i hope to get a parts kit tomorrow.

            thanks,
            -Alex
