Can I use an RT Pro on/off assembly in a Smartmag?

I did a search, but didn't find anything.

I have an old Smartmag valve, and I seem to get a little bit of shootdown when I am really hammering on the trigger. I believe that it is from the older style on/off top, which is the brass piece with the "V" notches cut into it. Rather than replace the on/off top, I was curious if I could throw in an RT pro/Retro Valve on/off assembly instead?

If yes, would this have any other benefits?

    Thanks-

nope..... yours i belive is a cylinder from top to bottom.... the RTP/retro one is more of a square/dome shape on the bottom.....

the on you would need is the on/off assy from a classic style valve....

I know that you can use the standard on/off top, but I someplace heard of somebody swapping out on/off assemblies. Urban legend maybe?

        Sure it will

Yes it will work...but the on/off pin length may need adjustment. Make sure its around .750.
