question about free parts for older guns

I bought my minimag used and it's pretty old. I was wondering about newer parts available. I read about new designed parts like the long nose bolt, a new power feed plug, and other stuff. I also heard some of these parts were given to people for free. Can someone give me some info.

There is a new parabolic PF plug out that improves feed rates for all PF Mags, but is necessary when using a Warp Feed. This plug is free if you don't have one yet. Just call AGD to register the gun, and ask nicely if you can get one of the updated parabolic PF plugs. There's a classic thread in this forum that shows and explains the differences.

As for the longnose bolt, that was not an upgrade that was free to all mag owners. It was an update in the design to reduce blowback with vertical feed guns. It makes no difference on PF guns. It has since been outdated by the new Level 10 bolt system.

The only other thing I'd recommend upgrading is your wire nubbins to plastic nubbins. You can find them in the Parts section of the AGD Online Store. These are not free, but they aren't expensive, either.

While you're at it, it would be a good idea to pick up a parts kit for your Minimag so you have o-rings on hand when you need them. It could probably use a fresh new set of seals.
