I finally got enough courage to stick my finger in the breach with my level 10 bolt and before I did it I wanted to know if theyre is some special way. Do I just stick my finger in halfway so its not all the way in the breach or can I put it in pretty much any way I want. Just being safe, don't want to lose my finger and all, but my cocker friends won't stop asking to do it.

dont use your pinky. if the bolt gets far enough foward, it will return to full force. :)
i have only heard of this happening once though, so if you have thick fingers..."The Fine Print: Discontinue use if your eyeballs suddenly get way smaller."Comment

Hold your finger on the front of the bolt and exert a "slight" pressure and then fire it. This will simulate the force the ball feels when it pinches it. If you hold your finger out too far, or stick it through the front of the mainbody, you'll feel a lot more force because it's going into the second stage, which is beyond the point where the bolt would damage the next ball in line or chop one.Comment

When assembling the bolt, test with something else like a straight shot sqeagee(sp). When everything is fine, you can use your finger. The valve does work, just remember safety first.
I forgot to do a test fire first and ended almost chopping my finger. What happened is that I assembled the valve and gassed it up. I stuck my finger in and fired. I heard a pop and the sound of a large leak. I thought to myself and thought, "this isn't right". So I took out my finger and saw blood. Now I new something was wrong. Well I ran to the bathroom to stop the bleeding. After I got the bleeding to stop, I inspected the cut and noticed that it was deep. SO, off to the ER. I took a quick look at the area I was working at and noticed the powertube top off to the side. Now I new what happened, it went full force. Luckily that the foamie wasn't attached, it could have been worse. That was 1.5 months ago. It healed but left a scar. During that time, the tip of my finger felt wierd with no feeling. All is fine now but it feels like there is a small bulge where it sliced through.
Remember: SAFETY FIRST!

sweet, just did it for the first time today at a rec game. After that I came home and had about 50 shots left in my tank. So of course I did it about 50 more times. Thanks a lot for the help, especially the squeegie idea, that worked well for getting my sis to do it.Proud Owner of a Phantom, Mag, and Tippmann
