LX bolt and Xtreme Bodies with Cocker Barrels...

    Hello all!

I just spent some time last night polishing the outside of my LX bolt so that it would work with my LAPCO AutoSpirit. Now it slides into the AutoSpirit just fine, good to go.

My concern now is, I will soon have a Custom RTExtreme, and I have already bought some new Cocker Barrels. One of them is .684, and my LX Bolt will not fit into that barrel's bore. Of course it won't, as it used to not fit into a .687 bore...

My question/concern here is does the LX bolt in the new Xmags actually pass into the cocker barrels? Or does the bolt never touch the barrel, only passing through the feed modual? If the bolt never touches the Cocker Barrel, then I am fine, but if it does, can I again shave the bolt down to .683, or will that be too much?

I figure that this has been looked at by AGD since they are now releasing the Xmag, and I hope that the Bolt never touches the barrel. If it does, are we Automag users limited in our Barrel Bore Selections, or can we order a smaller diameter LX bolt, that would be better then me using a hand file and a Dremel... :)

Thank you for your time, and Happy Holidays!

It never enters the barrel, remaining in the breech.

The extreme bodies actually have a wider bolt designed for them. You may want to look into picking one up from AGD.

It's wider since the breech is wider, creating a better seal.

The SFL lvl 10 bolt is even bigger but the extremes use the same .685" level 10 bolt as the rest of the mag line. Yes the bolt does go into the barrel a bit and can cause hanging up in small bore barrels. you need to polish the bolt only a bit, not that much(it's been hollowed out dont weaken it) the rest, take out from the barrel.

On my Emag Extreme, the bolt doesn't enter the barrel. There's no wear whatsoever in the barrel, but some in the breech. I suppose this can change a little depending on the spring u use.

different springs dont effect the length of the cycle, that valve still needs to do a full cycle.

You may just not be getting barrel wear cause you bolt fits your barrel but if your using a cocker barrel on your Xmag, yes the bolt goes into the barrel(a bit).
