    LVL10-Carrier Install

Problem installing Lvl10 in my emag.

Its really hard to put the carriers into the powertube. I searched, read some threads, and they all said "push harder". Now, i CAN get it in, but as it goes in the threads on the inside of the powertube cut into the oring on the outside of the carrier and "shave" some off the outside of it.

Im guessing that is what is causing the horrible leak when i gas up. Not a good enough seal because of the shaved off black o ring.

Also, i know what teh bars mean on the outside of the carriers, but what about the dots?

    Anyway, thanks.

Hrm... are all the carriers going in tight like that for you?

You can, and should, spread a little oil over them before putting them in.

Try swapping your damaged oring for one from another carrier, like the largest one.

The dots are half sizes. For example, think of the one with no lines or dots as carrier 0. The one with no lines and dots would be carrier 0.5, one line no dots- 1.0

    And so on.

Yes, they are all going in tight and i have put oil over them. I would put anbother oring on it, but its already killed 2 and i dont want to waste anymore.

Just drop the carrier into the top of the PT and then take a BIC pen and press on it. They all should be tight, but not tight to the point that pushing on it with a pen doesn't get it in place. Just make sure it goes in "centered" so you don't damage the black o-ring.

I'll try again, but i had it in there nice and centered, and it would not go in while pusing on it with the back of a pen.

Ok. It started working the way it was supposed to. I guess i must have been doing something wrong earlier.

Now it wont fire, that must be a bolt spring problem right? Or could it be too small a carrier?

Be sure to tighten the velocity adjuster until it does start firing. If it starts firing and leaking out the back, then step down the next smaller spring. Also, use the gun for awhile (shoot a case of paint or two), then pull out the carrier and fit the o-ring to the carrier one half size smaller than the one that makes it leak.

I'll respond for warewolf, since I was there during all of this.

We got it firing, and what we though was working, I actually got up the courage to stick my finger down the breech, and it didn't hurt at all

BUT, once we got to the field, another story. Dont know whether it was lvl10's fault or not, but it wasn't pretty. BLENDER! I THINK it was breaking in the barrel and not chopping, but i'm not sure. I couldn't figure out why. He uses a warp.

Also, didn't use any shims in the lvl10 install. Is that weird? When testing the bolt against my finger, or a squeegee, I wouldn't have to pull the trigger again to reset the bolt, it would just bounce back and be ready to shoot again. I though that it took a trigger pull to reset the bolt after a pinch.?

                Anyway...

We ended up using the smallest possible carrier, no shims, and the medium bolt. Shooting around 280fps.

BTW, Black, since we started off with the smallest carrier, there really isn't anyway we can go smaller, so what should we do?

The bolt is suppose to reset itself. Properly setup, it will reset itself quick enough that the gun barely skips a beat.

You need to keep stepping up in the size of the carrier with the SAME o-ring until it starts leaking and then step back one size. This will allow the setup to operate at the optimal pressure and reduce breakage and increase efficiency.
