Do you really want a Match?

A while back I read that for some reason, you actually want a little bit bigger barrel than the paint you shoot for a Mag. I believe it was on an out-of-date Smart Parts page. I checked back, and they've updated their website...I can't find it, but I know I read it somewhere.

Any truth to this matter? I know for all other guns a good match helps out, but why would it be different for a Mag?

    Thanks,
    Nathan

    Sorry

Sorry for wasting everyone's time. I just read Tom's Tech Tip #2 I wonder what the person was on that wrote what I read on that one page.

    Thanks,

With a little bit too large bore you sacrifice a little consistancy (acuracy) for a decrease in the chance you'll break a ball down the barrel (good thing). I'll do this if I'm using very brittle paint that I don't trust. Basicly when in doubt, go a little too big, never too small.

        Good advice from TheTramp.

All of the All Americans use only the .695 inserts in their freaks on their impulses. They claim good accuracy.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

          What about this...

Tramp said that with big bores you sacrafice accuracy for lower ball breakage. Is that entirely true? If you have too big a bore, won't the ball bounce rapidly from wall to wall of the barrel, causing the shell to weaken and break? Of course, with too small a bore, the paint is packed into the small area and blasted with air causing breaks. Either is bad I guess.

Always try to get the best bore/paint match for the least problems and best performance...nuff said.

          Thanks,

It won't really bounce around. And break. Everyone at my local field stands by the gold insert for freak i think it is .693. But I use the red one on my mag that is about .687 or something. And it is way more consistent. I did break but i don't know if that is from warp or insert.
