    Used Classic Automag

Ok, I've read all the reviews (ok, not all, but a lot and decided that the Automag is the gun for me. I bought it used from www.usedpaintballstuff.com. Besides shooting the marker, what else should I look for to make sure that this gun is "ok"? I have ordered level10 for it, so any insite or tests would be greatly appreciated. If I'm in the wrong area, sorry mods

    A little background:
I've played paintball for a few years but have always used rentals, which just happend to be Tippmans. So, I've taken the plunge and this is MY first marker.

The main thing is to gas it up and make sure there are no leaks. Then fire it over a cronograph and make sure you can get good velosity out of it. The great thing about a mag is that if you do have problems with either of those things they can probably be fixed with a few new o-rings.

The mag valve has a very simple "upkeep" design to it ...

Gas up your mag w/ no barrel and fire off strings of shots and then make sure the barrel isn't leaking ... make sure the ASA and stuff isn't leaking as well.

Then go to a Chrono and fire off some shots to make sure you have a speed within field standards (260 to 290)

You also will want to put a drop of oil into the valve before using it just to be sure.

You can get paintball gun oil from any paintball proshop ... take off the valve and there is a hole actually marked "oil" .. just put a drop in each and regas up the gun .. fire some shots with NO barrel in and then you should be set.

If you have any leaks or issues pick up an AUTOMAG PARTS KIT for 10 bucks and replace the orings and things.

      Hope you like your gun...

      Sincerely,

Thanks for the info. I'll give it a go and let you know what happens. It hasn't arrived yet but should be here any day hopefully.

        Thanks again
