    Lvl 10 "Hitting" too hard

I've had about 3 cases, under heavy use, through my mini and lvl 10. Up until my last time out it all worked perfectly.

Then it started "sticking". I'd have to pull the trigger 5 or so times before it would fire each time after stopping a volley of fire. Later in the day it started double feeding and would only fire every other trigger pull. The first trigger pull sounded like a ball was feeding but the lvl 10 wasn't allowing it to complete the bolt travel. So, a ball would be pushed up just far enough for another to feed in behind it. Then on the second pull both balls would be fired out, often breaking one or both. Weird, needless to say it was kind of infuriating after so much success earlier in the day.

I figured it was either a tight carrier or something with the on/off assy. making it stick. So, I broke it down and did a complete cleaning/overhaul/replacement of every seal in a parts kit.

After all this, it seems as though the lvl 10 is "hitting" too hard in the low pressure phase. I chopped a couple balls testing it and it feels a lot stiffer against my finger than before.

I've got the longest spring, the largest carrier that didn't leak, and 2 shims in the lvl 10. The velocity was set to about 275 at the field, I haven't unscrewed the tourney lock so its still set for that speed. I've got a preset reg on my crossfire HPA tank, 850 psi I think.

I had the medium spring (other stuff the same as mentioned above) in it before when it was working perfectly.

The lvl 10 was a god send but now is only half as effective. Help?

If the middle spring was "working perfectly" why did you change it? It sounds like you fond the right combination then changed it. My suggestion would be to change it back to the configuration that worked.

After it stopped working I cleaned/replaced all the seals. Then put it back to the way it was. It was hitting way too hard so I put in the longest spring. It still hits too hard.

try putting a ball in a position where it would chop.. ie: halfway in breach... I thought my lvl x was hitting to hard with the shortest spring yet when I TRIED to break 4 different types of paint on purpose it wouldn't break it. Exept for the time i used hte same paintball about 40 different shots in a row then it fell in, got shot and broke on the barrel lock pin.. lol If it seems like it could be hitting pretty hard just try it out with the paint! If it doesn't break, you don't need it to hit any softer.

Testing = a ball stuck to a piece of tape held in the breech.

The looser the carrier the softer on paint level 10 will be, just keep playing around with the settings. I use the biggest carrier that would work and the stock spring and I have yet to chop a ball.

Also make sure you keep your marker oiled alot, I usually oil mine after every case of paint.

What gun are you shooting ACE?? I leak like the titanic if i use any carrier that is not "Snug" fitting on the bolt.
