    Aluminum vs. MicroMag

    Hello!

    Which is lighter? A no.rise aluminum body with body rail or MicroMag body? I don't think the micromag body needs the rail... Is the micromag body aluminum? I would really like to know this question. Also, does anyone sell No Rise aluminum body in a matte black finish? Or purple, purple would be cool. email me and I'll pay cash to people who can offer me what I want! [email protected]

      dont know the weight comparisons yet, im guessing hte ULE rail and ULE body would be lighter than the PTP body(includes rail--it has a LOT of excess space)

      as for selling the bodies, AGD just designed them this week..they wont be available...for...well...2-3 years maybe...

          yep, there really isn't a no-rise alluminum body you can mount on a rail at this time, unless you buy a sluggo and get it milled. The micro body is pretty light and it is made out of aluminum to answer one of your questions. If your concerned about weight, I would recommend it.

              I had a Micromag for a loooong time. The only thing I didn't like about them was the way the powerfeed attached to the body. 2 flimsy screws set into the aluminum body. Didn't take long for the screws to pull out the threads from popping my Revvy lid shut. I had to JB Weld the powerfeed on.

              Sold it not long afterwards for an RT mag.

                  Is the ULE available for a standard RT Pro valve? or only emag? I use a standard body, and I'm just trying to expand my options!

                      50 cal- I agree about the screws. I have it even worse. My power feed is held by one central screw!

                          Are you using an RT pro? Because the ULE rail isn't any lighter than the standard mag rail. It'll help if you have an RT pro or emag, but not otherwise. The vert feed micro body's don't have any of those issues with the screws. They are quite nice and light.

                              Micromag and ULE

                              Here is a question...

                              The ULE is milled out to make it lighter, couldnt the bottom of the Micro body be milled as well witht he same areas milled in to remove a little bit of weight?

                              I am working on a custom milled vert feed Micromag body, and although it is aluminum, that stuff is heavy as heck! I have a guy trying to shave as much off the body and still make it look sweet cosmetically. We may have to add some metal to the upper body, and I would like ways to remove the small amount of weight we may be adding.

                              Already got an intelliframe for it.... kind of trying to figure out how to mount a electronic assembly from an Emag into the Intelliframe and get it running.

                              Anyone got a board they frapped I can check for size and fit?

                                  Nicad did that, his gun is awesome. He even made his own version of the valve. Run a search, or pm him, I'm sure he wouldn't mind talking about it.
