    LX low velocity tuning ?'s

For anyone who plays both indoor(250 fps) and outdoor(290-300 fps): what changes do you have to make to your level 10 setup to bring your velocity down to under 250 fps? I am going to play in my first tourney in a few weeks but it is indoor with a 250 chrony. I play outdoor with a 300 chrony and just wondered how much you have to change your setup to bring the velocity down. Thanks for the input.

I usually play indoor (that's what's near me) and I use the stock spring and um... a carrier? I think the spring is the only thing you'll need to change, but DON'T quote me on that...

use the stock spring and the biggest carrier that doesnt leak. If possible use a barrel with a whole lot of porting, that'll make it more agreeable to work with at those low velocites.

I don't have a chrony at home so is there anyway for me to test my velocity to get it clsoe to 250fps? What's the best way to estimate around 250fps?

You have to do weird things like that to lower your velocity? Wow... all I thought you would need to do is turn the nut a little

I guess im too used to seeing the 30+/- fps jump of c02

when playing indoor..... i have had good luck with:

                1.5 and 2.0 carrier
                middle spring
a good oiling before heading out for the day and if
it is a heavy paint use day.... a little more oil even
if i have to sit out a game to do it right....

i also usally set the fps at about 240-245fps just to make
sure in the case of a slightly hot shot.... which is rare...
esp when i use my 8"barrel.. thogh most of the time i use
                my 14"jnj ceramic

Thanks for all the input, I don't want to have to worry about velocity problems at my first tourney, I will be nervous enough as it is.

Is it really necessary to change your carrier or can you just change the spring?

Hey where ya playing? When I play at paintball colesium I have a hard time getting to 250. I use stock spring, biggest carrier that'll work and either a short barrel (6-8) or a heavily ported long barrel.

Hey Jeff, we're actually playing over here in Junction. The little indoor place here puts on a tourney every 3-4 months and gives away Black Dragons and masks and revvys for prizes, so a couple of my buddies and I decided what the heck, we'll give it a shot. Besides, I'm dieing to light someone up with the new e-mag!
