how do you fill from a scuba tank?

I was just wondering how practical it is to fill compressed air from a scuba tank. I read on some other post that tank fills are cheap at dive shops, so it seems like a feasible thing to do. But will they fill to high enough pressure? Can a 3000psi scuba tank fill my 4500 psi hpa tank? I suppose it doesnt matter that much if I only fill to 3000, cause I can refill myself, but i was wondering if there are other things that you can do. Any help is appreciated, I dont know anything about this stuff...

You will probably get about one 3k psi fill and from then on it will go down each time, about 11 usable fills from a decent sized scuba. To fill 4500psi you'll need a compressor i think and it will cost you a lot in the long run.

Some shops won't fill your tank without a divers permit, some will. You can get a used tank for under $100. You will also need an adapter that you can get from your local pb shop for about $65 or lower. You won't be able to get 3k since they fill to 3k. Depending on the cubic inches of your tank, you can get around up to 20 fills. Of course each fill will be less and less per fill. Around 5 fills, give or take a few, will be around 1k. Not alot, but enough for adjustments while working on your marker.

Its well worth buying a tank.
If u buy used make sure the hydro test is good, it has to be hydro tested every 5 years and visual tested every year.
The fill station is on paintball gear.com for $45.00.
Most dive shops wont fill it without these tests and a diver cert, but if u tell them it is for paintball only they MIGHT fill it.
As for fills depending on the temp you will get a few 3000 fills and slowly work down to being empty, when u get to 2000psi you get alot of fills.
Ill fill my 45 tank over 20 times for about $3.00 plus when u want to work on your marker the tank is right there to use and go playing with.
Its well worth it after the initial cost,it pays for itself.

I agree. The convenience alone makes it worth the expense in my opinion. I constantly tinker with my markers and need air. It's real nice being able to go into the next room and top off!
