    E-mag problems

Well, I've posted before about problems with my Warped E-mag... and it's getting really irritating. Originally I was breaking after like 6 shots. I got a new barrel setup, because the barrel seemed to be too tight for the paint I've been shooting, and switched to plastic nubbins. I went back out today, and I was breaking balls. I tried the 1.5, the 1, and .5 carriers in my level 10 kit, all ended up chopping balls when they seemed to perform correctly after initially being installed. I get a leak down the barrel after most games, and before others as I gas up. I pulled out my barrel in staging, and the bolt began to leak horribly. It double fed numerous times today, and when I shot, balls would just roll out the end of the barrel, or explode within and a bright green spray would leave the porting in my barrel. Any ideas, as to what's wrong, or how to fix what's up with my marker would be great... Thanks in advance to any hints/anectdotes.

What kind of feed system do you have? Is it feeding reliably? Make sure your balls are feeding in properly first. Chopping can't be eliminated completely. Some paint is so brittle that it will break with a slight amount of force applied to it.

Install the carrier that provides a nice snug fit and gas it up. Make sure you're properly oiling it. Also, don't use shims unless you have to. They can cause it to leak sporadically.

    Which spring are you using?

Also, was the paint too small for the barrel you were using? If it's so small that it rolls past the detents, then that's a problem that you need to fix first.

I was using polar ice, definitely not a brittle paint. I was using my.691 back which seemed to fit it pretty well, I'll check today to see if I could've gone smaller. I've thought about dropping a shim off, I will next time I go out. Right now, using the longest spring, and I'm at the .5 spacer, can't get much more snug than that... oh yeah, warp feed.

Use this as a test of the Level 10 Carrier Oring.

Take the carrier/oring and slide it on the bolt, oring first. Dangle the bolt from the carrier. Give it a little shake. If it comes off too quickly, it's probably too big. If it doesn't move at all, it's too small. It should kinda wobble and hold the bolt in there w/o it falling.

Thanks Dayspring, that's an awesome test, never thought of trying the fit that way. But I thought that the breakage was being caused mainly by the warp feed/barrel, and possibly by an over sensitive Level 10. I thought the warp was forcing a ball in to the chamber, or atleast trying, while the level 10 doesn't want to fire due to an obstruction that doesn't exist. So each time I pull the trigger, and hear the Pssssstttt, a ball is pushed in by the warp, despite the last one not firing. I tried to fix this by making making the dwell less on the warp, but it seems to not matter as much as I expected, and am still chopping.
