Micro-Emag Sear/Solenoid/Board issues *for BlackVCG in particular*

Hey everyone, (and Black if you read this )

I recently traded my 2k angel LCD for a green Micro Emag that broke a sear. He sent it to Pro Team, when it arrived i sent him the angel. That was around 2 weeks ago.

Since then the gun was fixed, then had a sticky on/off, then broke another sear (Sunday). It hasn't broken another sear but now it will only fire intermitently.

I've been talking to Paul over there, and he's been helpful and friendly but he hasn't solved the problem yet. He told me that he talked to JJ last night and they think the board isnt feeding the solenoid enough power to move the sear.

He said he had never heard of guns breaking sears like this one, but today he clued me in that there are a few more guns he's working on now that have the same intermittent fire issue.

He says he put a new board and solenoid in (yesterday), to no avail.

ANNNNYHOW, magman007 said BlackVCG can make Micro-E's sing, so that's why my question is directed at you. Have you (or any other AGD sponsored or not, Tech) seen Emicro's have these problems? What would you do? Any way I can contact you (Black) Directly?

    Thanks guys
    -Sam

    Haven't seen the problem myself.

I doubt that the board is limiting the output to the solenoid.

First of all, where are the sears cracking?

When I tweak E-Mags I work with the on/off pin length and the solenoid plunger length. The solenoid plunger length is a very precise setting and if it's out of tolerance one way or the other, the gun will act weird or not shoot at all.

Do you have the gun in your possession right now?

No, I don't have the gun now. I've never had it, its been at PTP for maybe 1.5-2 weeks. I'll find out where its cracking when I make my daily call tomorrow.

They apparently said something was kind of loose on the solenoid the first time, so they adjusted it. Then they tossed a whole new solenoid in there.

Well, if they cant fix it with JJ's help over at PTP how would you feel about taking a crack at it Black? Maybe i could get them to send it directly to you...

      Would you take paypal?

I'll reply when I know where the sear is breaking and find out if they made any progress today/tonight.

      Thanks for the timely reply

We could arrange something like that.

My only issue is that I don't have a lot of PTP stuff. As long as it comes with a new sear, I can tweak it to get it working right, so long as parts like the body aren't out of tolerance.

I do have paypal and all I ask is that you cover shipping/insurance charges.

I had bought a brand-new Micro E-Mag a couple years ago that would not fire. It was sent to PTP on 2 occasions, and AGD another. The gun was never fixed.

It seemed as though the solenoid wasn't strong enough to release the sear, which sounds a bit like your problem, although I never broke a sear.

My guess was that something was way out of tolerance in the E-Micro's frame...

After a few months of messing around with PTP, they offered to replace the E-Micro with a brand-new E-Mag (in Tequila Sunrise Fade) There are folks who have E-Micro's and love 'em, but I don't have a single good thing to say about them.

          Best Wishes

I heard about your issues a while back and they've been in the back of my mind ever since this mess started. I wouldnt mind a tequila fade emag though...

Any reason why replacing the board/solenoid wouldnt fix the problem (did they tell you why it wasn't fixable?)

No, they just bailed on the gun. I was PO'd because I had a brand-new gun that never worked. PTP's solution was to make the customer happy, which they did. It was a bad experience for both (me & PTP) of us...

I hope Black can make it right for you

Well, this gun is on its 3rd owner at minimum, so I'm not expecting that kind of hospitality

I guess the fact that there's a few other guns in there doing the same thing as mine can be taken as a good sign...If they figure out a fix this should get em to work 3 times faster, and they cant bail on 3 or 4 guns....

Thanks guys, Black I'll email you when I need ya...hopefully I wont, in which case I'll email you a funny joke or something
