X-Mag, 2.1, ACE, and BPS

I just got my X-Mag (v2.1 firmware) and I have some questions about ACE and BPS settings.

First off, I seem to have only two options for ACE, 00 (off) and 01(on). The documentation seems to think there should be a 02 mode for multi-colored paint, but I don't have a 02 mode. Did this feature get dropped?

Secondly, the marker seems to keep coming up with ACE turned on, even if I set if off before powering down. Shouldn't it remember the settings?

Third, with ACE off I get a max of 16 BPS and ACE on I get a max of 24 bps. However, when I make a change here, the change stays and shows correctly as long as the marker is powered up, but reverts back to 16 BPS for each mode if the marker is powered off. Shouldn't it remember the settings?

Finally, I am trying to adjust the ACE sensitivity to deal with two-colored shell (bronze/black) field paint. If I turn on ACE and back off the sensitivity to stop e-Mode from firing, and then drop the ball in with black side down and increase sensitivity until it will fire, it will then fire even with no paintball in the breech (and I am covering the breech to prevent light from getting in when adjusting). If I adjust it with the bronze side of the ball down, it will fire OK but if the black side is down, it won't fire. Any suggestions for this?

I also have the older version of the software. The new version has different ACE adjustments...not sure how much though. As far as it remembering..the only time I had a problem was when I completely drained my battery. Other than that, it remembers my ACE is off. When did you purchase the gun? How old is it?

The gun just arrived last week after being configured by RobAGD. It is from the first "production" batch of 30 or so that shipped between Christmas and New Years. Rob hasn't received his own X-Mag yet, so he isn't really too familiar with all of these settings.

Perhaps I should just give AGD tech support a call?

You pretty much gotta work at the factory to keep up with all the firmware changes. I have no idea what they are at now. The ones that were shipped to IAO last year had FA mode up to 16bps. I do remember them having two setting software and others having single setting.

You're just going to have to shoot a different colored paint. No way to get around the black shell.

On My X-mag:

I have 2.21 installed with ACE.

It has three settings

00- off
01- on
02- on

But with the ace on I can only get 20 BPS not 24 like bsolomon's, does anyone have any help for me??
